This Privacy Policy explains how Select Service Pros LLC ("SSP," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use our website at selectservicepros.com, our mobile-optimized web pages, our contractor portal, and any related services (collectively, the "Services").

SSP operates an online marketplace that connects homeowners looking for home-service work with licensed contractors who bid on that work. When you use our Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

Select Service Pros LLC is a Texas limited liability company. Our registered address is on file with the Texas Secretary of State. For privacy-related contact information, see Section 15.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

Homeowners: When you submit a service request, we collect your name, phone number, email address, service address, ZIP code, the nature of the service you're requesting, timing preferences, and any additional details you provide about the job.

Contractors: When you sign up to receive leads, we collect your name, business name, business phone, business email, service address, service areas (ZIP codes), trade categories, years in business, number of employees, business hours, payment methods, licensing information (trade, type, number, state, expiration, license document), insurance information (carrier, policy number, expiration, certificate of insurance), tax identification information as required for payments, and payment card or bank account information (processed by our payment processor).

All users: We collect any additional information you choose to provide in support requests, account settings, or communications with us.

2.2 Information we collect automatically

2.3 Information from third parties

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

4. How we share your information

4.1 With matched contractors

When you submit a homeowner service request, we share the details of your request — including your name, phone number, email, service address, and the description of the work you need — with up to three (3) licensed contractors we match to your request. This sharing is a core feature of the Services and is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which you submitted your information. Matched contractors are independent businesses. Once they receive your information, they may use it to contact you about your request in accordance with their own privacy practices.

Important: Contractors are independent businesses, not employees or agents of SSP. Their handling of your information after we route it to them is governed by their own privacy practices and applicable law, not by this Privacy Policy.

4.2 With service providers

We share information with third-party service providers who process data on our behalf, including hosting (Vercel), database and authentication (Supabase), payments (Stripe), CRM, email, and SMS delivery (GoHighLevel / LeadConnector, which uses Twilio for phone and messaging), email delivery (Resend), address autocomplete and mapping (Google), reverse geocoding (BigDataCloud), and AI-assisted intake (Anthropic). These providers are bound by contract to use the data only to provide services to SSP and to protect it appropriately.

4.3 For legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests from public authorities (including for national security or law enforcement purposes), enforce our Terms of Service, or protect the rights, property, or safety of SSP, our users, or the public.

4.4 Business transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the acquiring party's commitment to honor this Privacy Policy or provide notice and an opportunity to opt out.

4.5 With your consent

We may share information for other purposes with your consent or at your direction.

We do not sell your personal information for money or trade it to third parties for their independent marketing purposes.

5. SMS / text messaging

SSP uses SMS (text messaging) to deliver time-sensitive information related to the Services.

5.1 What messages we send

5.2 How you opt in

You opt in to receive SMS from SSP by:

Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of purchase or of using any part of the Services. You can use SSP's core matching feature without opting into SMS by unchecking the SMS box at signup or by opting out later.

5.3 Message frequency and rates

Message frequency varies based on your account activity. Homeowners may receive up to 5 messages per service request. Contractors may receive several messages per day depending on lead volume and account settings. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier's plan. SSP does not charge you separately for SMS.

5.4 How to opt out

You can opt out of SMS at any time by:

Reply HELP to any SMS to receive assistance information.

5.5 Carriers and delivery

SSP uses The Campaign Registry (TCR) and 10-digit long code (10DLC) messaging registered with U.S. mobile carriers for SMS delivery. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers include AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and others.

6. Phone calls and recordings

SSP or its agents may call you regarding your account or service request. When calling for support or quality-assurance purposes, we may notify you at the start of the call if the call is being recorded and give you the opportunity to decline. Texas is a one-party consent state for call recording; other states vary. If you do not wish to be recorded, tell us at the start of the call and we will note your preference.

SSP does not currently deploy pre-recorded or artificial-voice calls to end users. If we introduce such calls in the future, we will update this policy and obtain any additional consent required by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and applicable state law.

7. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, understand how the Services are used, and — where you consent — support marketing.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect certain features (e.g., staying signed in to the contractor portal).

We do not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

8. Third-party services we use

Below is a non-exhaustive list of key third-party service providers and the types of data they process on our behalf. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, linked where applicable.

9. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Specific retention periods:

10. Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information — including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest, access controls, audit logging, and least-privilege data handling. No system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential and for notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

11. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@selectservicepros.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (typically 30–45 days).

12. State-specific rights

12.1 Residents of California

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA gives California residents specific rights regarding personal information, including the rights listed in Section 11 above. We do not sell personal information for money. We may share personal information with contractors for the purpose of matching you with service providers, which is a permitted business purpose and is not a "sale" as defined under CCPA. To exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@selectservicepros.com.

12.2 Residents of Texas

The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA) gives Texas residents rights regarding personal data, including access, correction, deletion, portability, and the right to opt out of targeted advertising, sale of personal data, and certain profiling. To exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@selectservicepros.com. If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may appeal by replying to our response, and if still dissatisfied, you may contact the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov.

12.3 Other states

If you reside in a state with a comprehensive privacy law not specifically named above, you may have rights similar to those listed in Section 11. Contact us to exercise your rights.

13. Children's privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email (to the address on file), by SMS (if you've opted in), or by prominent notice on the Services before the changes take effect. The "Effective date" at the top of this policy indicates when it was last updated. Continued use of the Services after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
